About Us
Doukor UK, a Liberian owned business was established by Evelyn and Clarence DeShield. We first opened for business in April 2004, and have been serving the UK with customers in Spain and Ireland ever since. Our passion has always been to safely and reliably deliver our customers consignments to their relatives, friends and even business partners in Liberia.We offer a full range of services, ranging from personal effects to commercial shipments, and everything in between. We offer sea freight services twice a year to Liberia - July and December. Our full container or commercial shipments leave more frequently.
In 2008, we became partners with Liberia's largest pharmaceutical firm, Lucky Development Corporation. This partnership has seen the introduction of good quality medication reaching the shores of Liberia. We have shipped a number of commercialised containers to Liberia from various pharmaceutical suppliers in the UK. Our pharmacy at 24th Street opposite JFK was the first pharmacy to be open 24 hours in Liberia. We currently have more than 10 branches across Liberia and Sierra Leone.
In 2010, we decided to give back a percentage of our profit from each shipment every year to charities/individuals in the UK and Liberia. Some of the beneficiaries have been: Liberian Social and Athletic Organisation, UK; Union of Liberian Organisations-UK; Scholarship for Liberia - UK; James K Freeman Memorial Institute - Liberia; Tuition payment for 12 students - Liberia, Love A Child Orphanage - Liberia, NV Massaquoi School - Liberia and Liberian Association of Sheffield - UK. We are also proud to support the Gbomai Bestman Foundation - USA which focuses on Maternity care in Liberia.
Our travel services started in October 2010 in partnership with MV First Travel. We offer competitive tickets to/from Monrovia to the rest of the world on Brusselles Airlines, Air France, Royal Air Marac and Kenyan Airlines.
In 2011, we started London Cabs in Liberia - a taxi service with a twist!. Our drivers wear uniforms and name badges. The cars are clean and safe. With a current fleet of 6 taxis, we offer an airport transfer service as well as round town charters. You can also stay at Corina Hotel or Liberia Shipping Line guest house for special rates.
